The Voices Behind The Characters

Bernadette Peters

Bernadette Peters is one of my favorite actresses, and often referred to in my house as 'Dad's Girlfriend', though thankfully, he had no relation with her =). I've only seen her in Cinderella, and heard her voice on Anastasia, along with Beauty and the Beast- The Enchanted Christmas. She has a wonderful singing voice, and I love the character she has in her speaking voice. I haven't had the oppurtunity to see her in better films, but I plan to. I've often mistook her for Madeline Kahn, who died of ovarian cancer back in '99. They do have similar character, but they're not to be confused with. Just me and my stupidness, since they both sing and ... yeah. =P Bernadette recently appeared in Will & Grace, in the episode 'Whatever Happened to Baby Gin?'. I've yet to see that episode, but I watch that show when I get the chance, so I'm bound to see it. There's a quote by her that I hold close to my heart when it comes to my writings and drawings- "You gotta be original, because if you're like someone else, what do they need you for?"

Paul Reubens

Paul Reubens is widely known as Pee Wee Herman. Due to an incident in an X rated movie theatre, he recieved some bad publicity (but what else would you be doing in an X-rated theatre other than ... that! =P) I still love this actor despite that 'event'. I admire him for his ability to change his voice to suit Pee Wee, Fife, and other characters he played. I've seen a few Pee Wee films myself, along with Matilda, though I hadn't found out until much later that he played a part in it. I wish he was still popular today, but it just goes to show you how much damage a little incident can do to your career. He's still a favorite in my family, what with my father being a rather avid Pee-Wee fan. I'm sure there are other people out there who still admire or like him, despite the press. He's been in Doctor Dolittle, as the Raccoon. Sadly he hasn't appeared in any recent film that is widely known. He's still a star to me, and he'll always be known to millions as Pee Wee Herman.
